Don’t Blink

We watched Nick and Zack for a short amount of time this past weekend. We had our Annual Easter Egg Hunt at the Pogue’s house. We wanted to take a least one of our nieces or nephews. We decided upon Nick and Zack. We hardly get to spend any time with Zack, because he’s always at his Dad’s house, so we definitely wanted to take him with us and then Nick, well, he’s my boy. Watching them pick up eggs and hang out together got me to thinking about how fast time passes. I mean in a blink of an eye, they go from being little and snuggle bugs, to being big and independent.

Too often, we get caught up in life and forget to enjoy every little moment with these little babies. We are either wishing their lives away, saying, “I can’t wait till they get past this stage, so they can _________” OR “I miss them being a baby. Where did my baby go?” I feel that it’s important to enjoy them in every stage, because each stage is equally as important. Don’t get too caught up in what is wrong with the stage they are in, because you might be finding yourself wishing they were back in that stage. Especially when they are getting ready to head off to college and you are left with an “empty nest.” Don’t miss out on those stages, because they will gone in the blink of an eye.

They will go from this…

To this…

Memorable Conversation in the Car:

Zack: “I’m about to text my girlfriend.”
Me: “What’s your girlfriend’s name?”
Zack: “I have 10 girlfriends and I’m not telling you.”
Me: “10 girlfriends?!?! That’s a lot of girlfriends!”
Zack: “Yeah, Nick only has one.”
Me: “He does? Nick, what’s your girlfriend’s name?”
Nick: “I don’t have a girlfriend.”
Zack: “Yes, you do. I know her name!”
Me: “What’s her name?”
Zack: “Dora.”
Nick: “Nuh uh! She’s not my girlfriend.”

Don’t blink, because you’ll miss moments like these.
